JOB PLACEMENT PROCESS
ACI specializes in no-nonsense
western-style recruitment. We are
honest, straight-forward, and will
guide you through the job placement
step-by-step. We believe in fast
and constant communication with
our clients.
Here is the basic process:
1. E-mail us your documents
Please first email us the following:
- Resume (CV)
- A recent photo of yourself (can be casual, but must be clear)
- Copy of your passport
- Copy of your diploma
- Expected arrival time (positions come and go quickly!!)
- To find suited positions, you can also let us know any particular preferences such as salary, location, student age, benefits, etc.
2. We do the job matching
We will review your documents and
call you for a quick phone interview
if you are a qualified candidate.
We will tell you about the schools
that would be suitable for you and
send you a copy of the contract
upon request. If you are happy with
the position we have found you,
we will ask that you sign the contract,
and then scan and email us a copy
of it.
3. Book your flight
You will need to book a round-trip
flight to come to Taiwan. The best
way to book a flight for Taiwan
is to go through a travel agency.
Your travel agent will know which
airlines can provide cheaper tickets.
Travel agents also can assist you
with obtaining the visa you need
to enter Taiwan. To apply for a
60-days extendable tourist visa
to Taiwan, you need to show the
Taiwanese visa officer that you
have a ticket out of Taiwan. The
destination of the return flight
is not important. You can ask to
leave the date of the return flight
open. Once you have your flight
itinerary from your travel agent,
please scan the ticket and email
it to us so we can arrange for airport
pickup.
The schools will not apply for
your work permit until you have
arrived Taiwan and have signed contract
with school in person. Also, no
schools in Taiwan will provide pre-paid
airfare. You will be asked to enter
Taiwan with an outbound ticket.
This is not necessarily a "return
ticket". Please refer to Air
ticket requirements for entry into
Taiwan.
4. Get your 60-day tourist visa
We recommend that you enter the
country with a 60-day extendable
tourist visa, also called a Visitor
Visa. This is the best way to come.
You can get the work permit, resident
visa, and ARC (alien residency certificate)
after you have started working for
the school. We suggest the 60-day
visa because it takes approximately
one month to get all your paperwork
back to you. Therefore, if you only
get a 30-day visitor visa, you will
be rushed. If your first visit exceeds
the period given, you will still
have to fly out.
Please DO NOT come in using a Landing
Visa, or visa-exempt entry. A landing
visa is only good for 14 or 30 days
(depending on what country you are
from), and an extension will NOT
be granted. If you come into Taiwan
o a landing visa, you will need
to fly out again. You will need
to go to another country to get
the 60-day tourist visa before your
work permit can be processed. The
visa application fee is different
in each Taiwanese representative
office. The time it takes to process
the visa also differs.
5. Arrive in Taiwan
As part of our service, we will
arrange for airport pickup. You
will be then taken to either a hostel
or to your school.
6. Interview and Demo
We will train you on what the employers
expect from their teachers and prep
you on how to do teaching ÒdemoÕsÓ
7. Communicate and Support with
Your Job
ACI continues its service to you
by acting as a liaison between you
and the school. If you should have
any problems communicating with
the school, just give us a call.
